How we handle your data, how lessons work, and what we each agree to.

Last updated:

Refunds

You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase for any lesson hours you have not used yet. Hours already taught are charged at your package’s standard hourly rate and deducted from the refund.

Refunds

14-day refund window

Every package can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. We refund the hours you have not yet used; hours already delivered are deducted at your package’s standard hourly rate.

After 14 days

After 14 days, purchased hours are no longer refundable, but they stay valid for the full validity period of your package and lessons can be rescheduled within your package’s notice period.

How to request a refund

Contact us from the email address on your account and tell us which package you would like refunded. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, normally within 5 to 10 business days.

The free trial

The free 20-minute trial lesson costs nothing and requires no payment details, so there is nothing to refund.

Your data

What we collect

We collect the details you give us when you register (your name, email address, and, for students, your grade level), plus the learning data created as you use LingoPath: class attendance, homework submissions, quiz and exam results, and messages sent through the platform. Teachers additionally provide a CV, a photo, and their professional background.

How we use it

We use this information only to run the service: to create and secure your account, to schedule and deliver live classes, to assign and grade work, and to show progress to you and to the people you are connected with.

Who can see it

Your learning data is visible to you, to the teachers assigned to you, and to our administrators. A parent can see a student’s progress only after that student approves the connection from their own account. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.

Services we rely on

Live classes take place over a third-party video meeting service, which processes meeting data under its own terms. We also use hosting, database, and file-storage providers to operate the site. These providers process data on our behalf only.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to correct your details, or to delete your account and personal data, at any time. Contact us and we will action it and confirm once it is done.

Cookies

What we store

We use three cookies, and all three exist to make the site work rather than to watch you. One keeps you signed in, one remembers whether you chose English or Turkish, and one remembers whether you prefer the light or dark theme.

No tracking or advertising

We run no analytics service, no advertising network, and no third-party tracking scripts of any kind. Nothing on this site follows you to other websites, and we do not sell or share browsing data, because we do not collect it.

Clearing them

You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Clearing the sign-in cookie simply signs you out; clearing the others resets the site to its default language and theme. Nothing else is lost.

Accounts

One account per person

Each student, parent, and teacher needs their own account. Accounts are personal: do not share your password or let someone else use your login.

Accurate information

Register with your real name and an email address you actually check. We use it for account and lesson information, and to verify who you are if you contact us.

Students under 18

A student under 18 should register with a parent’s or guardian’s knowledge. A parent can request a connection to their child’s account at any time, and we may ask for confirmation before approving it.

Connections between students, teachers and parents

How teacher connections work

A student is connected to a teacher either by our admin team or by requesting a specific teacher. Once connected, that teacher can see the student’s assigned lessons, homework, quiz and exam results, and can message them through the platform.

How parent connections work

A parent can only see a student’s progress after the student approves the connection from their own account. Either side can request the connection, so it is never automatic, and either side can ask us to remove it.

What each side can see

Teachers see the work of the students assigned to them. A connected parent sees their child’s classes, homework, grades and attendance, read-only, and can message that child’s teacher directly through the platform. No student can ever see another student’s results.

Ending a connection

Tell us if you want a connection removed and we will remove it. Removing a connection stops any future visibility; work that was already graded stays on the student’s own record.

What teachers agree to

Be on time and prepared

Teachers start lessons at the scheduled time, arrive prepared for the student’s level and goals, and make the meeting link available in advance.

Assign and grade fairly

Homework, quizzes, and exams are set at an appropriate level and graded within a reasonable time, so students and parents see progress while it is still useful.

Log hours accurately

Teachers record only the hours they actually taught. Hours are reviewed and approved by an admin before they count towards a student’s package.

Professional conduct and confidentiality

Teachers treat every student with respect, keep student information confidential, and do not contact students outside the platform about anything unrelated to their lessons.

What students and parents agree to

Attend, and give notice

Join lessons on time. If you cannot attend, give at least the notice period for your package so the hour is not lost.

Do the work

Homework, quizzes, and exams are part of the lesson plan. Completing them on time is what makes the progress tracking meaningful.

Respect your teacher and classmates

Abusive, discriminatory, or disruptive behaviour is not tolerated and may end a package without a refund.

Do not record without permission

Do not record, screenshot, or redistribute a lesson, a teacher’s materials, or another student’s work without explicit permission.

Lessons, scheduling and attendance

Scheduling

Lessons are agreed between you and your teacher and appear in your dashboard, together with the meeting link for each class.

Cancellations and no-shows

A lesson cancelled within your package’s notice period can be rescheduled at no cost. A no-show, or a cancellation after that point, counts as a used hour.

Technical problems

If a lesson cannot go ahead because of a problem on our side or the teacher’s side, the hour is returned to your package and the lesson is rescheduled.

Using the platform

Use it for learning

Do not use accounts, messaging, or uploads for advertising, spam, or anything unlawful.

Content you upload

You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you are connected with, for the purpose of running your lessons.

Suspension

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules. Where a package is ended because of a serious breach, unused hours are not refunded.
